Creative exhibition «The Road to a Dream» by artists Bibigul Smakova and Gulnara Tabanova

On November 15, 2022, the opening of the creative exhibition «Road to a Dream» by artists Bibigul Smakova and Gulnara Tabanova took place at the Almaty Museum.

Smakova Bibigul was born in 1969. In 1989 she graduated from the theater and scenery department of the Almaty Art College named after N. Gogol and in 1999 the art and graphic faculty of the Semipalatinsk State University n.a. Shakarim. After completing her studies, she taught fine arts at a pedagogical college and worked as a costume designer at the Semipalatinsk Theater n. a. Abai. However, after a couple of years of pedagogical and creative activity, the artist had to leave art for a long 20 years. To date, B. Smakova continues to engage in creativity and teaching fine arts, and is also the organizer and participant of international exhibitions.

Tabanova Gulnara graduated from the Almaty Art College n.a. N. Gogol and Kazakh State Pedagogical University n.a. Abai. For more than 30 years she has been working at the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater, creating headdresses of famous artists such as Roza Baglanova, Madina Eraliyeva, Bagdat Samedinova and others. G. Tabanova was awarded the title «Madeniet kairatkeri» (2005) and is a member of the Eurasian Creative Guild (2019).

«The Road to a Dream» is an exhibition dedicated to the boundless love of Bibigul Smakova to her mother, who provided significant support in the development of her creative path, and her friendship with Gulnara Tabanova. Almost 40 years long friendship between the artists is presented as a single creative tandem at the exhibition.

The exhibition will run until November 29th.
