On June 23, 2021, the Almaty Museum hosted an exhibition of decorative and applied arts «Sheberler auyly» in the Almaty Museum, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the «Rukhani Zhangyru» program, as well as to the National Day of Dombra.
In order to organize the work of artisans in one place, the “MIRAS” organization was created in 1988, which united artisans and contributed to the restoration of forgotten types of traditional crafts. In 1989, by the decision of the Almaty City Executive Committee, the organization was registered. At first, the workshop-shop was located on the square of Astana, and then it moved to the foothill areas and was named «Sheberler auyly». Here, the masters under the guidance of D. Shokparov created various types of musical instruments: dombra, adyrna, zhetygen, nar kobyz, dangyra, shyndauyl, asatayak, saz syrnai, etc.. And under the leadership of G. Tleukhanov, the craftsmen made iron products, jewelry, household items of Kazakhs. Tourists and guests of the city had the opportunity to visit workshops, see and learn how to make national products. The workshop brought together famous craftsmen who carried out work to restore forgotten traditional types of crafts and popularize them. Products of Kazakh masters – national identity, national fund, national pride.
